What’s The Perfect Obstacle Race For You?

TO GET YOU STARTED: THE TOUGH BLOKE CHALLENGE™

Australia’s original obstacle course race, Tough Bloke definitely isn’t just one for the boys (yes there is a Tough Chick category too). A 7km event based around an Army assault course participants will brave 20 hair-raising obstacles spread over a cross-country course laden with thick mud-pits and ice-cold water crossings.

Tough Bloke is the Fun Run of obstacle course events with a light hearted and social feel, while still offering some serious challenges.

Most Challenging Obstacle: ‘Hells Gate’, a 12m rope crossing just metres from the finish line.

FOR A SERIOUS CHALLENGE: SPARTAN RACE®

Spartan Race has a range of events to suit everyone from the weekend warrior to the professional athlete. Distances vary from the 7km Spartan Sprint all the way up to the 42km Ultra-Beast.

No matter how fit you may be, no one does it easy on Spartan. With a more competitive vibe than other events, racers push themselves to the edge of exhaustion in hope of proving themselves worthy of wearing donning the Spartan medallion (there are different colored medallions for each distance and a special one for those who complete them all in a calendar year).

Most Challenging Obstacle: A 5m climb out of waist deep water up a wet and muddy rope.

TAKING IT TO A WHOLE NEW LEVEL: THE LONGEST DAY

Less of a race and more a test of human endurance, The Longest Day provides civilians a rare insight into just what it takes to become a member of one of the world’s most elite Special Forces or Special Operations units. Conducted over 25 hours (with little to no sleep), the event has been designed to truly test participants’ mental, physical and emotional fortitude.

As seen on the Channel Ten documentary of the same name, The Longest Day is lead by current and former members of elite Australian Special Forces, Special Operations and combat units, each event is based on a different grueling ‘selection course’ from units such as Marine Force Recon and Australian SAS to the uber-elite Para-Rescue Jumpers, so ‘candidates’ never really know what’s in store. Note: All candidates must pass a pre-selection assessment called ‘The Barrier Test’ in order to qualify for participation.

Most Challenging Obstacle: Sliding through a 100m ice-cold mud-pit on your back using nothing but your legs to push with.
